SAN FRANCISCO open the other gate

A beautiful day with perfect weather. How nice it would be to be out on the Bay. Alas, I have spent the day working. Bread before wine, or in my case, tortilla before apple juice. Don't ask.

I'm not sure if this vintage post card dates from the 1930 or 40s. I do, however, remember the last ferry going across the Bay.

  1. I worked on Treasure Island in late 1971 at the dispensary. My new bride and I lived on Alameda, and I either rode the bus or drove my 1960 black Cadillac to work almost every day. In other words, I was very familiar with this bridge. We didn't have a lot of money, but we surely enjoyed the sights and sounds of San Francisco.

  2. Interesting because it means we were most likely on the base at the same time several times. I used to go with my mother to the comm on TI. My father's last stations was in the big building on the right when you first drove on that was a leftover from the worlds fair. The view from there is tremendous.
