I started grade school in 1961, so I grew up during the downfall of The Western on TV. Some adults still bought me cowboy stuff as presents thinking that kids still played cowboys and indians.
ReplyDeleteI think it was pretty hard for folks to give up the "dream." Kids had been playing it for so long that I guess it just seemed like it would never end.
